Scott Held at Sherwood Park Dodge gives a brief description of the new 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Longhorn edition. This truck is the highest luxury truck that performs exceptionally well; the best of both worlds. As Scott says “bottom line, this truck is at home whether are you checking fences on the back forty or grabbing a latte downtown.” Here is a full transcript of his review.

2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Video Review

Hi Scott here. I am really excited about one of our new models called the Ram Longhorn. This is our premium model. It comes in half tonne, three quarter tonne and one tonne. Today we are going to look at the half tonne model in particular which comes, as you can see here, as a crew cab.

One of the first things you will notice about the Longhorn edition is its distinctive styling. This truck is available in a few different colours but they all have specific rims, markings and unique interior designs. I am not a real cowboy, but I kind of feel like one when I am driving one of these. Look at the saddle leather, even if you usually don’t like Western, sort of cowboy styling, I think you are going to like the look and feel of this truck. If you don’t like the etching, you can get this truck without it. Look at the saddle style buckle, stitching. This is truck luxury at its best.

On the exterior, notice the painted boards and unique wheels. Now the truck itself is based on our very popular Lermine model, which it our top of the line trim package. Which means the only way this thing comes is with lots of goodies.

Now I could spend half an hour talking about the technical aspects of this truck but this is just a quick video. So let me say that the independent rear suspension in this new truck has makes it ride and handle like a luxury SUV. The power comes from a 390 horsepower 5.7L HEMI V8 with fuel saving MDS system. It is mated with a smooth shifting all new 6 speed automatic transmission.

Very well equipped, features like heated and cooled leather seats, heated steering wheel, dual zone climate control, navigation system with backup camera. Just check out how easy it is to back up to a trailer. Another cool option this truck has is the Integrated Brake Controller. Basically it uses all the technology of the truck to adjust the braking as necessary. And if you hit the remote started when the outside temperature is below freezing, this truck is smart enough to start the heated seats and heated steering wheel.

Bottom line, this truck is at home whether are you checking fences on the back forty or grabbing a latte downtown.

Well I hope you had as much fun as I did. Thanks for taking the time to watch this video. We hope to see you soon.
