Give a grand welcome to the all new 2012 Toyota Prius c. This little car offers a sporty option to the hybrid name. This “city” styled vehicle offers a smaller footprint and is a great price point that appeals to a whole range of new buyers. Also the introduction of the hatchback offers that extra space if needed.

The 2012 Toyota Prius c has made some changes to the standard Toyota Hybrid engine.  The gasoline engine has been reduced from 1.8 L of displacement to 1.5 L and the dual electric motors are also smaller, with reduced output. The gas engine acts as a main propulsion source as well as a generator to charge the nickle-metal hydride batteries. The electric motors also contribute to propulsion and charge the battery under deceleration. Combined, the system produced 99 horsepower.

1.5 L, 4 cyl gasoline 73 horsepower and 82 lb-feet of torque.

The 2012 Prius c also has three switchable driving modes. In addition to the normal setting, the EV mode allows drivers to stay with eclectic-only power for up to 0.8 km (½ mile), at 40 kph (25 mph). The ECO mode automatically modifies throttle response and air conditioning operation to maximize your fuel economy in all conditions.

Some other features that are new the Prius lineup via the 2012 Prius c is a unique interior. Centrally located gauges are mounted high on the dashboard, which is odd, but makes it easier for them to be read. With the benefit of a hatchback you are getting a trunk that hold up to 17.1 cubic feet. There is also a rear folding seat to add the ability of fitting awkward items. You can always expect innovation from Toyota.

The exterior is entirely new for Prius models. Not only are you getting a hybrid, you are getting a sporty hybrid. With bold colours and a rear spoiler you will be turning heads. The extremely sloping hoods helps with visibility as you are trying to parallel park in tight city streets.

The available trims are: Prius c One, Prius c Two, Prius c Three and Prius c Four.
