Finding That Perfect Parking Spot During Holiday Shopping

by Admin on December 17, 2013

I know I am not the only one who gets frustrated with finding parking when it is cold out and you need to get your last Christmas gift. So I put some thought and research into how to find the perfect parking spot.

It is the toughest time of year to find a decent parking spot. Also to top it off, the crowded mall parking lots and super long line-ups can cause stress. Here is a quick list to help you navigate between competing for the last open spot and slowly stalking shoppers back to the their cars.

Here are a few tips to make your parking experience a little less stressful:

  • Make sure you keep your head up. Don’t get distracted by things in your vehicle. There is a lot going on in a parking lot.
  • Set up your pay-by-phone account for your city’s parking before you head out.
  • You may not want to hear this but take the farther parking spot. Walking is good for you and can reduce stress. Plus, you could also save time you would spend endlessly looking for a closer parking spot.
  • Always read the parking signs, there is nothing worse than getting a parking ticket after you have already spent a lot of money on shopping.
  • Always hide any packages from sight in your car. If you can, only Christmas shop in one trip, then head home to reduce the risk of inviting thieves to smash a window and steal your perfect gifts.

I know I will always be looking for the farther parking spot now. Sure it is chilly out, but that means I will just walk faster and get some fresh air with my exercise. I hope this little list brought some insight into how you are going to handle your parking during the busiest time of the year.
