For rally-car enthusiasts and hot-hatch hooligans, the excitement of the Ford Focus RS hitting North America is vibrating. The Focus RS definitely has the competition shaking in their boots with its 2.3 liter turbocharged four, sending 350 HP and 350lb-ft of torque to all four wheels.

The Ford Focus RS is a front engine, 4-wheel drive, 5 passenger hatchback that is finding itself needing little introduction wherever it goes. Having a zero to 60mph of 4.6 seconds, this is one car that will have you on the go, quickly. This 6-speed manual transmission, everyday drivable car will make anyone feel like a rally-car driver easily.

The RS comes with two package options, the standard features and the RS2 Package.

The standard features include:

  • 2.3L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start/Stop Technology
  • 6-speed manual transmission
  • RECARO partial leather-trimmed front seats with RS logo
  • Audio System from Sony® with 10 speakers

As for the RS2 Package you will have the option to add the following:

  • 8-Way Power Driver Seat (up/down, fore/aft, tilt/recline and power lumbar)
  • Black Leather Recaro® with Miko®-Dinamica inserts with RS Logo
  • Heated Mirrors
  • Heated Front-Seats
  • Heated Three Point Steering Wheel
  • Voice-Activated Touch-Screen Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link

With enhanced aerodynamic redesigns of the front grille and the rear diffuser as well as the unique spoiler; Focus RS creates zero lift overall for optimum high-speed handling. The front brakes are cooled via a special air guidance system to help improve track performance. When it comes to the design of the Focus RS, every detail has a purpose.

It is said that the RS will start at a base price of $35,900 MSRP.

Ford has been building Ford Focus RS models overseas for nearly 5 decades, with North America begging for its introduction onto our soils. This is the first one to hit our lands, and it may be one of the best!
