Tesla Master Plans

by Derek Kubik on July 27, 2016

In a previous post about the Tesla Model III I touched on Telsa’s Master Plan, now known as the first master plan:

  1. Create a low volume car, which would necessarily be expensive
  2. Use that money to develop a medium volume car at a lower price
  3. Use that money to create an affordable high volume car
  4. Provide solar power

The Tesla Model III

by Derek Kubik on April 20, 2016

On March 31, 2016 Tesla Motors held the unveiling event for the Tesla Model III. Tesla feels it’s very important to speed up the transition to sustainable transport and the Model III is most affordable Tesla vehicle to date. Furthermore the Model III is a culmination of the Tesla master plan; start with a low volume high price vehicle (the Roadster), then make a medium volume not as high priced vehicle (the Model S) –  this platform also extended into the Model X. Finally with the revenue from the Model S and X, Tesla developed their high volume affordably priced vehicle – the Model III.
