The Ford KA

Ford KA

Recently I went on a holiday to the United Kingdom to attend a family reunion. How fun! Although I was not there for work, I could not help but look at all the makes and models that we didn’t have in Canada. From darting across the street to take a photo of a parked car to snapping photos in parking lots, I’m surprised I didn’t get hit or shouted at. Pedestrians don’t have the right away in England like they do here in Canada, which I nearly learned the hard way!

Ford is a dominant brand in Canada and it is no surprise that the UK has plenty of them as well, but they also offer models not available in Canada. The Ford KA stood out the most to me, likely because it was the one I most frequently saw on their roads. It was difficult to take a picture of them because they were usually being driven, but I got lucky and found a Ford dealership. At the front of the lot was the Ford KA in an amazing hue of what Ford calls Blush.

Ford KA

This is a small four passenger, two door car, great for commuting and city driving. Ford mainly seems to be targeting a younger audience with the KA as the car carries the motto, “The KA made me do it.” This cheeky car is a hit in the UK and I think it would be a great competitor in Canada to the newly released Nissan Micra. The Micra is also very popular in England. These small vehicles are better than large ones for navigating narrow roads and tight parking spaces.

The Ford KA comes in 7 different trim levels: Studio, Studio Connect, Edge, Zetec, Titanium, Metal KA, and Grand Prix III.

From practical features to pronounced design and style, the Ford KA is capable of attracting the attention of first time drivers and everyday commuters. For more information on the Ford KA, please visit the Ford UK website.

Just for fun, I have included some photos of other vehicles I saw on my trip, which are not found in Canada.

Ford KA -> cute small car. I hope Ford Canada will import it. This will be a great competitor to small cars like Nissan Micra.

I am quite surprised with the Nissan Micra’s debut in Canada, that we have not heard more buzz about Ford’s KA in Europe. I hope to see it in Canada. I think it would be definitely take the competition up a level!

I had seen the Peugeut logo before, but I didn’t know what brand it was. I also didn’t realize how different vehicle lineups were in Europe!

I vividly remember the first time I ever saw a Smart Car in Europe. It was the summer of 2000 in Rome, Italy and it blew my mind. I couldn’t imagine such a tiny car in the states. Now I see them everywhere (at least in Vermont!) This expose on British cars (and parking) makes me miss Europe so much!
